Jim Linville, MA, LMHC
Jim is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Biola University in La Mirada, California and his master’s degree in counseling psychology from Ball State University. He has an extensive experience working with families, adolescents, and children.
He is a member of the National Association of Masters Professionals, and is a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist through The Grief Recovery Institute. He has had training specific to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, as well as training in the unique Theophostic prayer counseling. Jim’s training and experience includes eating disorders, especially compulsive eating, addictions and other life controlling issues. This has given Jim a broad understanding of these issues in addition to their effects on the entire family.
Jim is aware that many people have been wounded emotionally and continue to carry the emotional wounds into adulthood and throughout their life time. The old adage “time heals all wounds” is not true. If the wounds are not dealt with they continue to shape our thinking and our experience of the world around us. As a counselor Jim’s heart is to see people set free of the bondage of the lies they believe about themselves and the heartache of emotional wounds from the past. He stated, “I have been inspired by the courage I have seen my clients exhibit through the years as they have endeavored to be set free. I am not satisfied to see my clients get a superficial ‘band aid’ but rather I want to see them get to the root of their problem and walk in true freedom.”
